Which painting do you like the most, and why, give your overall impression of his work. I like The Dream the most out of the four because the colors are bold and I like the fact that he put in many different animals in the picture, it makes you look deeper in the picture.I like most of his art.The colors he used how he arranged them,he might be my favorite Post impressionist.

A LITTLE ABOUT THE FAIR: The Fair opened April 15, 1900 and Closed November 12 1900.The 1900 World Fair, held in Paris, was a celebration for the turn of the century, and attracted over 50 million visitors.

ROUSSEAU and the FAIR:
"1889
• He visits the 1889 Paris World's Fair and is inspired to write a play on the subject, a light comedy entitled A Visit to the 1889 Exhibition.
• He also paints Myself, Portrait-Landscape in which he features the Eiffel Tower, the famous Paris landmark built for the 1889 Exhibition."

The fair inspired him to do all of his jungle paintings because at the fair they had a Safari exhibit. That's were he got most of his ideas for his animals and the plants.

How did Van Gogh die and at what age?
Van Gogh's depression, (one he had for quite sometime) deepened, and on July 27, 1890, at the age of 37, he walked into the fields and shot himself in the chest with a revolver. Without realising that he was fatally wounded, he returned to the Ravoux Inn, where he died in his bed two days later. Theo hastened to be at his side and reported his last words as "La tristesse durera toujours", (French for "the sadness will last forever"). He was buried at the cemetery of Auvers-sur-Oise.

Birth Year : 1853 Death Year : 1890 Country : Netherlands then he moved to Paris.

I could not find one, but I remember seeeing a painting on the vedio.
What painting did he paint using this method?
Starry Night and other night scenes, he would put a candle in his hat so he could see at night when he would paint.
How many paintings did Van Gog sell in his life time?He sold one painting when he was alive but now he is famous and many paintings have sold and sell for millions of dollars.
Who supported him during his life ?
His brother Theo.
Van Gogh might have been mentally ill, he went to a mental hospital , it is reported that he hallucinated, how do you think this effected his art? Be descriptive and thoughtful like an art historian.
I think his depression and that he was hallucinating effected his art a lot because through out his painting nothing Is clear and I'm wondering is that what he thought his surroundings looked like.
Did Van Gogh have syphilis?
Yes, he did so did many other artist.
Van Gogh was inspired by what native or foreign countries work?

80 people signed a petition to have Van Gogh recommitted to a mental hospital , why do you think they did this? Because he was a little crazy and because he wasn't like every one else.

Describe Munich s childhood and how did it effect his painting?
"1868 Munch's mother dies of tuberculosis at the age of 30. Her sister, Karen Bjolstad, takes over household.

This effected him a lot in his art, it made his art more gloomy because he was so very little when he lost his mother and sister.

He was known for his death, love and anxiety paintings.
