She suffered serious injuries in the accident, including a broken spinal column, a broken collarbone, broken ribs, a broken pelvis, eleven fractures in her right leg, a crushed and dislocated right foot, and a dislocated shoulder. Often called the Father of Modern Art, Cézanne continually developed as an artist. He limited his contact with fellow artists (notably the Impressionists) in order to pursue his own studies of form and color and developed a marvelous, unique style of painting. His preferred subject matter was either still life or landscape (which lent themselves more easily to color studies), although he occasionally rendered humans.(About.com)
