At the time, this was a small town on the outskirts of Mexico City.On September 17, 1925, Kahlo was riding in a bus when the vehicle collided with a trolley car. She suffered serious injuries in the accident, including a broken spinal column, a broken collarbone, broken ribs, a broken pelvis, eleven fractures in her right leg, a crushed and dislocated right foot, and a dislocated shoulder. An iron handrail pierced her abdomen and her uterus, which seriously damaged her reproductive ability. She had thirty-five operations as a result of the accident."( wikipedia,Frida)After the accident,Frida turned her attention away from the pain and became a full-time painter. The accident left her in a great deal of pain while she recovered in a full body cast; she painted to keep her intertained.Although she recovered from her injuries and eventually regained her ability to walk, she was plagued by relapses of extreme pain for the remainder of her life. One day, she approached the painter, Diego Rivera, whose work she like alot, asking him for advice about continuing her art career. He recognized her talent. They began an intimate relationship with Frida. "They were married in 1929, despite the disapproval of Frida's mother.

Their marriage was often tumultuous. Kahlo and Rivera had fiery temperaments and had numerous extramarital affairs. Kahlo had affairs with both men and women, Rivera knew and tolerated her relationships with women, but her relationships with men made him jealous. For her part, Kahlo was furious when she learned that Rivera had an affair with her younger sister, Cristina. The couple eventually divorced, but remarried in 1940."(Wikipedia,frida)

The year before her death she had her left leg amputated at the knee, because of gangrene. The cause of death is pulmonary embolism, some say that it could of been an over dose it may or may not of been accidental. It has not been proven. After her death her husband said "The day Kahlo died was the most tragic day of my life,I have realized that the most wonderful part of my life had been my love for her.

Moulin Rouge means what?Red windmill
Describe what it was? Moulin Rouge (French for Red Windmill) is a cabaret built in 1889 by Joseph Oller, who also owned the Paris Olympia. Close to Montmartre in the Paris red-light district of Pigalle on Boulevard de Clichy in the 18th arrondissement, it is marked by the facsimile of a red windmill on its roof.(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moulin_Rouge) When the Moulin Rouge opened on October 5, 1889, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec had already gained much popularity within the bohemian community and was one of the invite-only guests at the opening night party. The Moulin Rouge, which means "red mill," was just that: a huge windmill painted red. It became a landmark, and a symbol of the joie de vivre — the joy of life — in Paris at the time.
The Moulin Rouge was the "rendezvous du high life." It was a theater, a concert hall, and a dance hall — all at the same time.
People came from all over to dance, to watch the dancers, and to watch each other watching the dancers. And Lautrec was there, at the same table every night, drinking and sketching everything which caught his fancy, particularly the dancers.
Try to find a picture of the Moulin Rouge in his time.

Definition of Comedy: A Shakespearean comedy is one that has a happy ending, usually involving marriages between the unmarried characters, and a tone and style that is more light-hearted than Shakespeare's other plays.(wikipedia.org)

Definition of Tragedy:A play, that portrays or depicts calamitous events and has an unhappy but meaningful ending. A disastrous event, especially one involving distressing loss or injury to life: an expedition that ended in tragedy, with all hands lost at sea. A tragic aspect or element. (Answers.com)

I prefer to watch Shakespeare's comedy's, more than tragedy's because I dislike the endings of his tragedy's, I always end up wishing I didn't watch the tragedy. Therefore, I like comedy's more, plus most of them are funny and more enjoyable. Today I watched As you like It, a comedy play, this BBC movie lasted 150 minutes. I enjoyed it, but did not find it funny. Four couples got married at the end! This is typical shakespere comedy.

Today I found out that Shakespeare wrote three genre History, Comedy, and Tragedy.

WHO WAS JOHN DONNE?

"... any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee."

21. January 1572 – 31 March 1631

John Donne was born in London. He was Poet, Priest, and a Lawyer. He got married to Anne More. Anne gave him 12 children in 16 years of marriage. After his third child his dad died and soon after his mother. His wife died on 15 August 1617, five days after giving birth to their twelfth child, a still-born baby. John Donne mourning his loss, wrote his 17Th holy sonnet about her. He never remarried; this was really unusual for his time, especially as he had such a large family to raise.
Early years

His work consisted many of satire ( to ridicule or be sarcastic and meant to be funny) with often involved politics or the law. He also wrote erotic poetry, such as is found in The Flea.
Later years

After experiencing much death around him his work turned to writings about death and were much more somber in tone. He died of stomach cancer and had a picture made of him in what he would look like when he rose from the dead. Then he died a few months later.
Poems
He was Influenced by William Shakespeare in his poetry. He was a Jacobean poet which is an era after Shakespeare. In his writing he wrote mainly about love, sex, religion, and death. In his time influenced a lot of people like W. B. Yeats, Ernest Hemingway, T. S. Eliot, Dylan Thomas, and W. H. Auden . He was considered a metapyhsical poet. he was considered anti-romantic.
